Golf For Life was started in 2006 as a way to help individuals with Down Syndrome get introduced to the game of golf. The program was inspired by the accomplishments of Brad Hennefer, an individual with Down Syndrome who has won various medals playing golf in Special Olympics. Brad's accomplishments coupled with his desire to help the Down Syndrome community sparked the Golf For Life Program. Our goals are to conduct clinics around the country with PGA Professionals to teach the game of golf to all individuals that have Down Syndrome.
The concept was created with the Hennefer Family and Brad's Golf Buddy Dick Smith, Jr. What you see below is the start of the launch of our program through three events: Our First Golf Clinic at Pine Hill Driving Range, Our Inaugural Golf Classic at Woodcrest Country Club, and the official launch of our Pilot Program at the NDSC Conference in Atlanta, GA.
